Job Summary
As a Surgical Technician Reward PRN, your role is crucial in patient care during surgery. You will assist the surgical team by managing equipment and instruments. This ensures a smooth surgical process. Your top priorities are a safe operating room and working equipment.
Essential Functions of the Role
Prepare the operation room as per surgical schedule by setting up sterile supplies and equipment on the instrument table.
You are accountable for setting up and ensuring the surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies function properly during procedures.
Prepare site by cleaning, shaving. Help team with patient positioning.
After each procedure, you will clean the Operation Room by removing drapes, trash bags, used supplies, and equipment.
You are important for cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for distribution.
You will keep surgical tools clean. Follow health institution rules.
You will manage inventory and supplies, document equipment usage, and maintain records and files related to the equipment.
Always follow infection control guidelines to keep work environment safe for all employees and patients.
Key Success Factors
Familiarity with cleanliness measures and standardized sterilization guidelines.
Understanding the values and practical application of sterile and aseptic techniques.
Knowledge of surgical procedures required.
Familiarity with tools and tech.
Possession of clear verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to interact effectively and work harmoniously with other members of the surgical and central sterilization teams.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
EXPERIENCE - (2) Two Years of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
Cert Surgical Technologist (CST): CST from NBSTSA or NCCT (education must be CAAHEP accredited). If not certified: Must have surgical tech experience in a healthcare facility before 9/1/2009. Or, must have completed a surgical tech program in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or US Public Health Service Commissioner.
